Chris Grunwald is a native of the Philadelphia suburbs who has been at the heart of the local music scene for many years. With several bands, including StillWillis, Hunter's Canon, and Hezekiah Jones counting Chris as a member, he continues to explore many different musical avenues. As a solo artist, he has reached the level of a seasoned professional with his voice and guitar work. While hosting the popular Wednesday Night Open Mic at J.D. McGillicuddy's in Ardmore, Chris has amassed an amazing catalog of well polished cover tunes. Thanks to a well trained ear, that has helped in Chris' profession as a guitar teacher, and serious natural ability, new songs are added each week. Chris has even been known to figure songs out on the fly. A typical performance displays a talented musician with a great taste in song selection often leaving audience members proclaiming, "I can't believe he played that song!" After sharing stages with such Philadelphia acts as Amos Lee, Adrien Reju, Andrew Lipke, and Devon Greenwood, Chris appears comfortable in any setting. From bars to house concerts to private parties, a good feel for the audience and a widely varied song list guarantee everyone's entertainment. After years of top notch performances and through the release of his original cd, Plant Life, Chris has garnered much respect as one of Philadelphia's best musicians and a loyal fan base. Chris currently lives the good life In Paoli, PA with his wife and three kids where he is working on a new collecion of original music. Be sure to check out a show and see for yourself why Chris is not your typical"guy with a guitar."
