Matt Spitko has been a pro for over ten years, and it shows in his live performances. Covering a wide range of American music from old blues to classic rock pop and soul, 80s, 90s, 00s, and 10s, clients call on Matt year after year for his voice and formidable guitar playing. Using a live looping device, he plays both rhythm and lead guitar simultaneously, creating a full sound for one performer. Specialties include weddings, corporate events and private parties.
Matt's music has been featured on WXPN Philadelphia, MLB Network and WFMZ, among others.
October 2015 marked the independent release of his debut LP with producer Barrie Maguire (Amos Lee, The Wallflowers, Natalie Merchant), titled ‘At Love with War.' Rock on Philly had this review:
"His voice plays like an instrument, just as soothing as the guitar... The album is a story of heartbreak, self-realization, nostalgia, and humble optimism told through the sounds of contemporary Americana... it is finely-tuned and neatly packaged. The album’s eleven tracks flow together so well, it plays like a single song."
Spitko's second full-length album, "Things We Tell Strangers" was released in 2018 with tracks like 'Apollonia' and 'Shapeshifter' pointing toward new musical and lyrical themes.
